Multigrain Bread Upma
Ingredients
- Torned multigrain bread- 2-3 slices
- Unsalted sunflower seeds- 1 tsp
- Oil- ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)- ¼ tsp
- Curry leaves (kadi patta)- 3-4 leaves
- Ginger-garlic paste- ½ tsp
- Finely chopped green chillies- 1no.
- Finely chopped onions- 1 tbsp
- Finely chopped tomatoes- 1 small
- Carrot chopped- 10 gms
- Turmeric powder (haldi)- a pinch
- Red chilli powder- ¼ tsp
- Lemon juice- ½ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Finely chopped green coriander (dhania)-1 tbsp
Method
- Heat the oil in a broad pan and add the mustard seeds.
- When the seeds crackle add the curry leaves, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies and onion and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, 2 tbsp of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while mashing lightly with the help of a ladle.
- Add the lemon juice and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.
- Add the bread, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously.
- Switch off the flame, add the coriander and mix well.
- Serve hot.
